

John was the first son of Egbert and Mable Wildman, born June 24, 1929 in Monticello, MN. The family moved to the Seattle area in 1942. At a very young age John joined the Merchant Marines, he first sailed victory ships hauling ammunition during the Korean War. He was drafted in the Army in 1951 and served with the 587th Engineer Battalion in the Korean War. In his early years he educated himself and worked his way up from a wiper/oiler in the engine room to 1st Engineer. He spent the last 20 years of his career on supertankers sailing from Houston to the Middle East.
John had 7 sisters and 7 brothers; he was preceded in death by 5 of his sisters and 3 brothers. He is survived by sisters Jeanne & Fred Adams of Zimmerman, MN; Nancy Hammer of Edmonds, WA, and brothers Richard & Sylvia Wildman of Boise, ID; Judd and Lois Wildman of Clarkston, WA; Bill and Diane Wildman-Trunnell of Andover, MN and Robert Wildman of Bali, Indonesia along with numerous nieces and nephews. His niece Patty Tellvik of Issaquah and his brother Larry (whom just preceded John in death) are commended for the loving care they provided John.
John never married and solely supported his mother from 1952 until her passing in 1988. This loving, solid, disciplined and dependable man will always be loved and deeply missed.
