Kathy was born in Tacoma, Washington on May 7, 1962 to Charles McCarthy and Teresa (Gallagher) McCarthy. Kathy attended St. Charles Borromeo, Curtis High School and graduated from Capital High School (Olympia) in 1980. She was a 1985 graduate of U of W with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority.
In 1985, she married Thomas Jenks. They have three children; Scott, Kristina (Desmarais), Shauna and two grandchildren. The family resided in Lynnwood and Snohomish while Tom worked for Boeing and Kathy as an elementary school teacher. Kathy taught in the Shoreline School District for 27 years, with the majority of the time at Meridian Park Elementary. In 2017 she was hired at Little Cedars Elementary in the Snohomish School District. She always leaned into and advocated for students that needed additional support to reach grade level goals.
Kathy enjoyed life and was a devoted wife and mother. The family enjoyed time together at the kids’ sporting events, camping, and vacationing. Recently Tom and Kathy spent time together golfing, attending Broadway plays at the Paramount and Everett Silvertips games and gathering with family and friends.
Kathy is survived by her parents Charles and Teresa, sisters Barbara Thompson, Kelly Bell, Patricia Thies and her brothers Stephen McCarthy and Daniel McCarthy.

Kathy will be laid to rest in the Queen Anne Columbarium, Wisteria Room, adjacent to Butterworth Funeral Home, 520 W. Raye St., Seattle, WA.
