Kathleen (Kay) Ann McDonald, beloved sister, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in Kirkland, WA on November 8, 2015 at the age of 74. She was born in Lake of the Woods, Minnesota on December 7, 1940 to Harvey and Lenore Smith and moved to the Lynnwood area when she was a child. She was an adventurous and fiercely independent person who spent time in Hawaii, Arizona, Texas, Kansas, Georgia and Florida before returning to Washington State to be near her daughters. Kay had an uncanny ability to attract people from all walks of life. She raised her family to appreciate the diversity and wonders of people, food and places, to love unconditionally and without judgement. She loved to cook for her family and her life was lived through generosity, a sense of humor and caring for others. She left a legacy of family, love and friendship that will live on forever and she will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her three daughters, Gina, Diana and Maria; and 11 grandchildren, Travis, Brynn, Kaylee, Breanna, Aubrey, Hannah, Malia, Jessica, Joshua, Jonathan and Kayla.
