Katrina Gia NGHE
Born March 4, 1966, in Saigon, Vietnam. Katrina was tragically and suddenly taken from us on May 28, 2001, Memorial Day at the age of 35. With her in the car was her 26-year-old sister-in-law Michelle Huang. Both died from injuries suffered in a freeway collision in Bellevue, Washington, with another car whose driver had been drinking.
Katrina was an exceptionally caring and loving daughter, sister the second of seven children, aunt, friend, and co-worker. Katrina had a heart of gold and left a positive impression on everyone she touched. She dedicated her life to helping others and her job as a Contact Specialist at the South Seattle Branch Office of the U.S. Social Security Administration allowed her to fulfill that mission. Katrina was a ''true social worker'' in every way. Katrina graduated in 1990 from the University of Washington with a degree in social work.
Katrina is survived by her loving mother Tran Luu of Seattle; father Kin Hong Nghe of Taiwan; brothers Keen Ni of Renton, Washington, and Quinn Ni of Hawaii; sisters Vannie Nghe, Anne Main, Denise VanNghe, Josephine Ingalsbe, 7-month- old nephew Brandon Main, and fiancee Kien Lu, all of Seattle.
Katrina's cremated remains will be homed at the Chinese - Vietnamese Buddhist Temple at 2121 North 130th Street, Seattle, Washington, USA.
