It doesn't seem that long ago that I was playing badminton with Glenn in Mom's back yard.  When Frank told me of his grandson's then-ongoing struggle, our human mortality really hit home.  Knowing the qualities of his parents and grandparents, I know Kyle had a good life.  Our prayers are with you all.

I saw Kyle's story on the news a year ago and it touched my heart. I, too, have a son at the UW about Kyle's age. I could only imagine how difficult and painful his strugggle was and how awful it would be to have a very sick child. 
When I saw his story, I was so impressed with his wonderful personality and positive outlook.
I am so sorry to hear that the world has lost such a positive spark.

Kyle set a high standard for students in my Astronomy classes at the UofW: battling cancer and undergoing radiation treatments *and* then starting chemo, all in one quarter.  He missed a number of classes, but, in spite of everything, came out NUMBER 1 IN THE CLASS, getting something like a 98% overall!  My sincere condolences to Sheryl and Glenn on their unimaginable loss of one super kid.  He touched so many people and changed lives.  --- Ana Larson


As the teaching assistant for Kyleâ€™s Press and Politics class last year, I appreciated Kyleâ€™s persistence, intelligence, honesty and charm in dealing with demands of the class and the challenges of his treatment and symptoms. My red bracelet serves as a reminder of all the lives he touched in the UW community.

I enjoyed playing golf with Kyle, Glenn and Frank.  Even with the illness he did the best.  He played golf with the same enthusiasm apparently that he lived his life with.  My memories of Kyle are on the Wayne Golf Course Tuesday afternoon.

We all have funny, fond and loving memories of Kyle. He gave new meaning to the boys of summer and baseball.  Kyle always had a great story to tell and a smile on his face. It's a treasure to have shared his love for baseball, family and friends.  Sheryl and Glenn thank you for sharing Kyle with us.  How wonderful to love and be loved by a child of such class. Kyle, what a wonderful person you are. How proud I am to have known you. Your strength, perserverance, and humor will live on, and all that have known you will be better people just because of you. Sincere sympathies to Sheryl, Glenn, Megan and the multitudes of people who now have an empty, unfillable hole in their lives now that you are gone. I know you are playing baseball up above and making everyone in heaven smile. Thank you for being a part of my life.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I believe I met Cheryl at the UofW on my husband's last day of brain cancer treatment. She approached me to tell me about her son's great progress. I lost my husband in November . I am just so sorry that Kyle lost his battle so young after such a brave battle.My sympathies go out to the entire family.

I am so sorry for your loss. My son Ben, my only child, passed away November 11, 2004 at age 22. He graduated from Woodinville HS in 2001. I'm not sure Kyle and Ben would have known each other -- Ben was in Special Education due to learning disabilities and health issues. This past year has been the toughest year of my life, but somehow, in some strange way, God has used this time to draw me closer to Him.
May the Lord hold you tight and give you peace and comfort.
