On May 2, 2010 Lavella Marshall passed away at home, surrounded by family. LaVella was born in Gordon, Nebraska on August 29, 1922 to Elmer and Luella Pittman. LaVella was Seaman 2nd Class in Navy Waves from 1942 to 1945. LaVella met her husband, Norman Marshall, in Washington D.C. while serving in the Navy. They married on the 1st of September, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. She retired from Nebraska Methodist Hospital where she was a Quality Assurance Director. After relocating to Kirkland, Washington in 1982, she worked as a Quality Assurance Director at Evergreen Hospital until May of 1992.
LaVella enjoyed gardening, crafts, crossword puzzles and was an avid baseball fan but her greatest joy was her four sons: Brian (Kay), Steve (Becky), John (Janis), Wayne (Mary) , 5 Grandchildren, and 4 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother. She is survived by her sister, Betty Giaffoglione, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
