Born Sept 18 1951 in Seattle, WA, Leanne passed away unexpectedly Oct 22, 2014. A lifelong resident of the Seattle area, Leanne grew up in the Greenwood area and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1969, where she was a member of the standout vocal group, the Chanters. She attended the University of Washington and proudly fulfilled her goal of earning a degree in French. After a well deserved post-graduation trip to France, she returned to embark on a surprising career. Her beloved aunt, Dolores Richardson (maiden name Anthony, since deceased), had helped Leanne secure a part time job in corporate insurance while working her way through college. Few imagined that this would become Leanne's passion and lifelong career. After graduating, Leanne spent 20 years with Kibble and Prentice in positions of increasing knowledge and responsibility. Her drive and excellence in her field resulted in her being recruited by Starbucks (corporate). Leanne spent the last 23 years with Starbucks as a highly decorated Risk Manager and Senior Claims Analyst. Her co-workers enjoyed her unwavering commitment to excellence, her sunny disposition, and her exquisite wardrobe, not to mention a shoe collection that would make Imelda Marcos green with envy! When not working or studying to enhance her job skills, Leanne was a voracious reader, consuming several hundred books, of all genres, annually. Leanne, and her spectacular baked goods, were always present at family gatherings where many a mini-riot would ensue among those trying to secure their share of the baked bounty. While generally quite reserved, Leanne had a keen sense of humor, imbued to her by her late father, Robert P. Logan. In addition, she was a stealthy card shark, with vast skills in the lost arts of cribbage and pinochle, honed by years of playing with her father, aunt Dolores, and favorite uncle Louis Richardson (deceased). On the rare occasions that Leanne took a vacation, she enjoyed traveling. Never intrusive, but always encouraging, Leanne always had words of support for those close to her. Her Starbucks family and her traditional family mourn her loss with a profound sense of grief but also share a profound joy that she was part of our lives.
