Born in Great Falls, Montana on April 1, 1936, Lois graduated from Hobson High School and went on to Montana State University to study Nursing. While living in Bozeman, she met Ronald Kilwine. They married on St. Patrick's Day, 1956 and moved to Seattle, WA.
Lois's career path changed as she became a mother to seven children. She also became the bonus mother to hundreds more for the 10+ years she worked at Seattle area elementary schools.
In 1969 she married James Castonguay and they celebrated thirty-nine years of marriage until his passing in 2008. In 2009 she became a member of the White Center Eagles Women's Auxiliary 2568. She loved to dance, visit and spend time with her family. She was known for her kind spirit and genuine willingness to help others.
She is survived by her children Katherin Henken, Ronda Kilwine, Allan Kilwine, Brian Kilwine, Jim Kilwine, Carl Kilwine, Lee Castonguay and Sue Iannaciello. She was grandmother to thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren, that affectionally called her GG. She is survived by her sister, Nita and brother, Ben. Marlene Bittermann and Bobbie Beck were considered her closest friends, both of whom she had know for over forty-five years. Her best friend was her younger sister, Diane Crosbie, who also passed away unexpectedly in March of this year. A woman who loved being in love, she gave her heart most recently to Jake Cahill. Along with attentive care, he has given her joy and adventure. For that, we are grateful.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, September 16th at Yarington's Funeral Home. There will be a Life Celebration for Lois at the White Center Eagles immediately following.
