Luther James Carr

Luther was born in Atlanta, GA, the son of Luther J. Carr, and Mary Jackson Carr. He graduated from Lincoln High School - Class of 1955, Tacoma, WA and then went on to graduate from the University of Washington where he excelled as a star football athlete known as Hit and Run Carr. He married Frances J. Ross in 1958 and together they enjoyed 56 years of marriage until his passing. Throughout adult life he was involved in business, civic and community affairs. He was a member of First African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Luther is survived by his children, Brenda E. Carr Nelson (Arthur), Dana M. Carr, Luther J. Carr, III, four granddaughters, Briana N. Nelson, Whitney N. Nelson, Amaria K. Carr and Jasmine A. Carr; his siblings - Charlotte Carr, David Carr (David, Jr.), Mary Carr (Kim), Claudette Carr, Gary Carr (Cita, Garrison, Johanna), Deborah Carr Moseley (Brian, Jared, Matthew), Cathy Carr Reevers (Gailen, Gailen Jr., Justin). He was Preceded in death by his parents and baby sister Donna M. Carr Crittenden, (Carlena). A host of relatives, family and friends mourn his death.
