

Marilyn was born on July 7, 1926, in Seattle, Washington, to Henry and Maud Baumgart. She was raised in Seattle and graduated from Franklin High School, where she laid the foundation for a life marked by strength, grace, and service.
During World War II, Marilyn served her country by working in Personnel Administration for the U.S. Army. After the war, she married the love of her life, Eugene Nathan Mabbutt, upon his return from military service in Europe. They were married in April of 1946 and built a life together filled with love and commitment. Together, they had the joy of raising two sons, Daniel and Brian Mabbutt.
In May of 1959, Marilyn began a long and successful career at Frederick & Nelson, where she worked with dedication and pride for 32 years before retiring in January of 1991. Over the years, she steadily advanced within the company, ultimately holding the position of Director of Personnel, Administration, and Labor Relations.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, and her son, Daniel. She is survived by her son Brian; daughters-in-law Carmela and Donna; grandchildren Ryan (Briana) and Rachel (Philip); and great-grandchildren Megan, McKenna, Cullen, and Alden. Her family was a source of great pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. A private family gathering will be held in her honor on July 7, 2025.
