Born to Noel and Edna Winter in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Patricia (or Patsy as she was known then) was the youngest of three sisters and knew the difficult times of growing up during the Great Depression. Her family moved to Hanover, Illinois in 1941 so her father could work in woolen mill, reopened due to World War II after being closed at the onset of the Depression. Pat graduated from Hanover High School in 1949; shortly after she moved to Seattle, meeting Dick Erickson the following year at the Palladium Ballroom in North Seattle where a lifetime romance began. Pat and Dick were married in 1952 and had two children, Pattie and Chip. As a caring mom she was involved in PTA, Campfire Girls and supported her children and husband 100% in all of their endeavors. The early '70s found the family moving to Puerto Rico and then Hawaii, then eventually back to Seattle in 1974 which would always be "home".
Family was everything to Pat but bingo and casinos were definitely her idea of fun. She also loved to sing and perform and participated in community theater productions including the role of Mrs. Peroo in the Music Man with the Sound Expression Theater in Edmonds in 1978. Pat was also generous with her time and energy, volunteering for organizations such as the Ryther Child Center, Fircrest, Stevens Hospital, PTA and Catholic Services.
Special thanks to those who cared for Patricia in her final days and hours at Northwest Hospital, particularly the doctors and nurses of the Intensive Care Unit. The family appreciates your care and support, helping us all through one of the most difficult times of our lives.
Pat is survived by her husband Dick, sister June Winter, daughter Patricia Erickson, son Chip (Charlotte) Erickson and grandchildren Shelby, Lauren and Kayla. This woman was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her, but we're grateful to have had her as part of our lives.
