Paul Frederic Fisher, age 54, passed away May 12, 2024 following an extended illness. He was born on August 14, 1969 in Everett, Washington, the son of Paul G. Fisher and Janice (Skinner) Fisher. He was named for his father and his grandfather. As an adult, he was known as "Z" by some and Paul by others, but as a child he was called Eric by everyone.
Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood was Eric's favorite tv show when he was very young, especially the Real Land of Make Believe. This inspired him to make up stories of his own, at first dictating them to his mother before he was old enough to be able to write by himself. He continued to write stories throughout his childhood and as a young adult.
While growing up, he had varied interests: performing magic, tricks, drawing, learning to play the trombone, participating in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. More recently Paul was actively involved with the blue team of Ingress, the card game Magic the Gathering, and the video game series 1,2, and 3 of Diablo World of Warcraft. He had taken up meditation, stating that it helped him cope with pain and anxiety. Paul was an avid reader throughout his life, and had collections of books on religion and the occult.
Paul attended North Thurston High School in Lacey, Washington. He studied at Seattle Central Community College, where he earned an Associate in Applied Science degree with emphasis on computer science.
Paul is survived by his mother, Janice Fisher of Ellensburg, his sister, Sheila Fisher,brother-in-law, Dan Cheah of Seattle, as well as many cousins, best friends Max Bossert and Michael Firefall, and his little black cat, Zeena.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American diabetes association in his honor.
A memorial service & reception for Paul will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Washelli Funeral, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133.
