Dear Helen and Family, It was less than 4 months after my husband John and I came to pay our respects to Paul, you and family that John went to join Paul. He passed away May 22 2014. I pray for those that have losses and even co-facilitate grief groups, but this past year was so overwhelming for so many. I never got to know you other than an occasional Christmas party or rewards dinner. I pray for you often because I know the loss impacts your family so much.   I am moving on through God's Grace and Mercy and I pray that that same Grace and Mercy be yours today and all that follow. I can see our husbands reunited, John telling his silly jokes and Paul graciously putting up with them. God Bless and keep you, Coleen Fernandes.

Just learned today of Paul's passing.  He was a fine man and a real patriot.  My condolences to Helen and all off his family.

We are going to miss Uncle Paul ! I don't know how to express how sad I am, I write this with tears falling but love and happiness in my heart for having been family with Paul . I remember him supporting me and all his family, from watching our sporting events to taking us fishing! How lucky we all are to have shared together. Love and comfort to all.

Paul, Helen & Chrissy were our first neighbors on Roosevelt Way after we were married in 1970.    Then, they were blessed with Lori.  No one could ask or have better neighbors than Paul, Helen and the girls.  So many wonderful memories and so thankful to have kept in touch for so many years.  Paul will be missed more than words could ever express.   A wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend that all of us are lucky to have known.  

Memories are the legacy of love and all of you have so many to cherish and have forever.

Paul was one of the best people I have ever known. He was a real "man's man", but had a gentle and kind nature. He was quiet by nature, but when he spoke, people listened. He was a man you could trust completely. He and Helen were like second parents to my daughters.  They helped us through some tough times and I will always be grateful. He leaves behind the legacy of a loving family and so many friends. He will live in our hearts forever.

When I reflect on all the wonderful memories we had it brings tears to my eyes knowing I won't be able to share them with him anymore or create new memories.

I had the privilege of working with Paul for a few short years at the Redmond Gallery.  He was a great leader, always with a great attitude, great sense of humor, a great human being.  I always appreciated his "just so you know" wisdom and guidance that he provided me that was always spot on correct.  So much so,  that I often told him that when he retired so would I.  He did and I did.  I miss him, and I will always remember him for the outstanding life example he set for me and everyone who knew him.

I wish I could shine a light and allow you to see the Paul Hundley I knew and loved.  He was my brother in every sense of the word.  Though in fact he was married to my sister Helen, we were brother Marines, and we had formed a unspoken bond over fifty years.  He honored me with allowing me to share a close relationship with his daughters, and their daughters and of course, my sister Helen.   Paul was my best man and my best friend.  My son was blessed with his name.
Helen and Paul always kept a seat at their table for me and my son, Paul.  When I arrived at his home, he always gave me the best hug and warmest greeting.  Paul shared his home with the Knight children their spouses and their children and their spouses and their children.  All, whether family or friends, were welcome at his house.  His home was a comfort zone, a place where we happily shared graduations, birthdays, christenings, showers, meals or other important events.  I have comfort in knowing Paul was loved by all who knew him.  
My heart grieves for us left behind by Paul.  The pain will lessen with time, but my love will always remain strong.   Today I can smile when I picture Paul smiling.  I'll close with, "I love you man," or "Goooordy,?" to coin his words.

When someone passes, the "smoke blowing" begins on how great, kind, loving, that person was.  In Paul's case, all the superlatives are true.  If you asked all of Paul's co-workers over the last 20 years who was their favorite, it would be Paul.  In our work at Bon/Macy's we had to deal with management, customers, and co-workers and Paul was simply the best.  He came to work every day with the best attitude; that it wasn't about him, but everyone around him, no grumbling or complaining.

I had the privilege of spending a day last summer with Paul.  Some would say he got the "short end of the stick" not being able to enjoy his retirement years, but Paul didn't do life that way. I can report that he was content.  He had his wife, his kids, grandkids, his friends, and his dog.  I miss you buddy, and as you always like to say "GOOD JOB!"

my friend paul was agreat husband,father,grandfather,&true friend to all of us!most of all he was a true patriot.he proudly served his country in the war during the most dangerous year in Vietnam.he survived many battles he was a leader,he inspired troops and probably saved many lives during the worst of times in the battlefield.upon coming home paul was given the greatest gift any man can ever receive! a wonderfull wife in Helen.from then on the family grew as a model family his daughters that woul make him proud!grandkids that would lite up my buddys face like a roman candle! I understood him ,I loved him,i trusted him,i am so glad to have had the pleasure of working with him for years and after a stressfull day having a cold beer with him & the guys at the local tavern.I learned a lot from my friend paul,that will help me in my life.i will never forget the words he would say to Helen when telling her we were stopping for a beer (I love you baby) I miss you bud,but you will always be in my heart & thoughts forever. rip Benny.

Dear Helen,
I have known you and Paul for nearly 30 years and words can never describe how those of us who were fortunate enough to know him felt about him. He was a kind of a man who brought joy and happiness into everyday life and never complained or uttered anything negative about anyone or anything. He lived a happy, content and immensely rich life with you and the children in the center, left and right of it. While Paul's loss is grave and so untimely, his memory and legacy will remain intact and Indestructible in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him.

Paul George was a man whose life touched so many with a love that was both spoken and unspoken.  When you met him your life was given a "gift" that will remain with all of us forever. He was a true "fisher of men". Athough we know that the Lord has called him home, a significant loss has been brought into our lives, He will be greatly missed because he was so GREATLY loved!!! We have been blessed to have Paul and Helen as our neighbors for over 20 years. Having known Paul, it is easy to realize how deeply he will be missed by friends and family.  Life at our house will not be the same without Paul next door.

Some really nice thoughts here about a really nice guy. Although I miss our working time together, I reflect most often on our memorable golf outings---all 19 holes of them. And while I'm certain that I will never ascend to the level Paul now resides in, I'm hoping there will be a dog park shared by all levels, and I'll see him there often. Till then my friend.

I will remember Paul as such a standup, good guy who radiated warmth, kindness and love to all of us lucky enough to know him.  He always welcomed me with a great smile and hug that I will cherish forever.  I was fortunate enough to spend time with Paul and Helen last October.  I remember with great fondness the talks we had every morning and how glad he was to have resolved his VA disability claims so if something did happen to him, Helen would benefit.  His family was precious to him, and I will keep them all in my prayers and thoughts.  I will miss him dearly.  He'll always be in my heart  All my love, cousin Kathy.

Paul was one of the finest men we had the pleasure to know.  A big man with a big heart & smile.  When we think of Paul we remember his wonderful sense of humor.  Always with a joke or a funny story to tell.
His deep& unconditional love for his family was unshakeable. Always, spoke with so much pride about his girls & grandkids.

Last Wednesday was a very sad day for me when I received the news of the passing of my brother in law Paul. I loved him very much and respected him immensely. I as well as my family have been blessed over all of the year's having Paul be in our lives. Paul and Helen were so very generous to all of their family and friends hosting so many events at their home. There home was one of my very favorite place to go to. You always felt so very welcome and loved there. Recently someone asked me what Paul was like. I said that if one were to go and look in the dictionary for the word cool, his picture would be next to it. Paul was a beautiful man who loved his family and friends and I will miss his kindness, laughter and wonderful spirit forever. Helen, Chrissy, Lori and of course his beautiful grandaughters, my prayers, thoughts and love go out to you in this time of sorrow.

Please accept our love and sympathy. We never had the opportunity to meet Paul in person, but we feel as if we know his beautiful spirit. Bryan and I have known Lolo for several years, and spent many hours in her "special chair" at the salon. During our time with Lolo, she would share beautiful stories of her and her father. It was obvious how much Paul was loved and cherished by many. And at the same time, it was conveyed that Paul put his beloved family first, always.

Paul was the gold standard of people.  Ask anyone who knew him.  In every situation I saw him in, in the 20+ years I knew him, he always did what was best for everyone he dealt with.  Always.

If I ever had a doubt about what I should do in certain situations at work, I would ask myself “What would Paul do?”

If his name ever came up in conversation, there isn't a person I know who didn't gush over what a fantastic person he was.

I attribute this to an innate goodness that he further developed through the years with the help of his equally fantastic wife, Helen.  Every time I saw them together you could see the love.  They always looked like newlyweds to me.

I miss Paul.  I miss the warm positive smile as he greeted everyone.  I miss his entry into a room when everything got a little brighter, a little friendlier, and a little better.  I miss my friend.

I hope one day to hug my dear friend again, though I know the line will be extremely long, and that God, in His infinite wisdom, may want to keep this kind and gracious man mostly to Himself.

It was so difficult to learn of Paul's passing...I'm still in a bit of denial. The Hundley family is like my own. I grew up with the family and have so many fond memories. Paul's VERY starched dress shirts - he always looked so sharp, chewing gum, laughing so hard in the pink room, hot tub or TV room...Paul was SUCH an amazing listener and positive influence on how we should all look at life. He always had a smile on his face and just as Chrissy mentioned...his hugs were THE best!!! I know your positive light is shining on us now (as I type this a peak of sun is coming through the clouds!!) Dearest Helen, Chrissy and Lori...may the love of your friends and family carry you through this time of grief. I'm here for ANYTHING you need. God will carry you all through this - may you find peace and comfort knowing him as you do.

"Hey,man." is what Paul used to say to me. Will never forget it. I am not exaggerating when I write that I think people like Paul make our country great. Strong. Dependable. Tough. Family-oriented. We need more men like Paul, and he will be sorely missed.

It was heart breaking to hear the news of Paul's passing. He and I go back a ways and he was one of the nicest guy's. We traded places in The Bon Marche and it worked out well for both of us. Our sincere condolences to the family and may God's Paece be with all of you,

I was so saddened to hear today of Paul's
 passing and as i sit here writing this I am flooded with so many memories of Paul and Helen. Paul never new a stranger and he always greeted everyone with that great big smile of his.My thoughts and prayers are with Helen , Chrissy and Lori and all his wonderful grandchildren.

I just learned of Paul's passing today via an email from Benny. Deeply saddened. I worked with Paul for about 15 years at The Bon/Macy's in Redmond. One year I was honored to win "The Paul Hundley Award."  It was my proudest moment in the 18 years I worked there. "Doc" was a true leader and looked up to by all who had the good fortune to know him. Put Silver Wings on my friend's chest. He was one of America's best. Will miss him badly. My heart goes out to Helen and family.

Paul, Short-i, is the embodiment of character traits most of us (me) seek to possess--considerate of others, kind, polite, thoughtful, great listener, reliable, and lover of jokes. 

Paul is my role model for such things and if I ever reach half of his skill level in this goodness, I will be happy.  I miss you very much Paul.  

To Helen and family, Paul impacted many lives--more than he ever knew. And, I believe you can also take credit for his great character as it was clearly nurtured by you.

Papa Paul had the biggest heart! He loved his family and friends very much. I hadn't seen papa and mama in years and I got to see them in November at Jackie's bday and it was like no time had passed. Im so glad you got to meet my daughter. You will be missed a lot Papa. I have so many good memories of me and Lolo hanging out with you and ma that I will always treasure! ......
