Terry was an amazing guy. He was always respectful on and off the court. We respected each other's game through pickleball and connected through it. Sending my condolences. Hope the family is well and taking care.

I knew Quan as Donny. He and I worked a tech support job together from 2019 through 2020. Donny was a loyal friend, and I could always count on him for anything, anytime. 

One of my favorite memories of him will always be the early mornings coming into the office, and he would be zipping through the hallway on a battery powered scooter, greeting everyone as he went by. 

Donny and I made a pact that if one of us left this tech job, the other would also quit. I couldn't imaging doing the job without him. So when he quit in the Spring of 2021, I followed some months later. He made that environment so fun, and he truly cared for each and every person he worked with. He was authentically himself on and off the clock.

Donny, it's a shame we didn't get to see one another again after I moved away. The stars will shine even brighter now that you are amongst them. Rest easy, my friend. You are so loved and will be dearly missed.

One of two trips I took with Terry, I had another photo of him, my wife and I getting Mod Pizza for lunch together but I lost my previous phone with that picture. 

His laugh was infectious and the energy he brought made any hangout come alive, and every time we hung out together he was always goofy and making me laugh. Terry once drove to the Smokey Point Navy Exchange to pick up my 75inch tv because my car was too small. Terry also drove out in the snow on the freeway to help my father-in-law out of a ditch because he slide off the freeway due to the snow. Terry never asked for any payment and didn’t hesitate to help me out, and that’s the kind of person Terry was. 

I’m glad to have gotten to know Terry for the time that I did, although our friendship was short lived, he was my Brother-In-Arms. In the Navy we have a saying, “We’ve got the Watch now”. This is traditionally used on the ship when we all perform the duty of “standing watch”: keeping watch over the ship. A crew member's watch ends when they are relieved by the next person, who "has the watch". At a funeral, by saying "we have the watch now," the remaining service members vow to continue the mission that their fallen comrade dedicated their life to. It is a pledge to uphold the same vigilance and commitment.

So Terry, rest easy brother. We’ve got the Watch now.

So many amazing memories with Quan. He had enough life in him for the entire universe. 

Thank you for your service, my friend. So sad to see you move on…

As a final attempt to redeem himself, Quan picked up pieces of the crumbled sheetrock from the floor and attempted to put them back in the ceiling. He said he didn’t have construction knowledge and he wasn’t lying. We have talked about this night SO many times. It is a definite core memory for me. Having a knee squatting dance competition with Mark. Saying “oh girl” when Hannah asks if he knew a song. Singing r&b jams through the closed screen door to our friends outside. Being shocked by Jeramys fast dance moves because he’s “never seen him move that fast”.

Quan inspecting his handiwork throughout the night. He really couldn’t believe that he did that. He kept blaming the support piece for being hollow. Or that the ceiling wasn’t strong enough. He certainly didn’t think he was strong enough to cause that damage.

Quan wouldn’t stop tightening it. Until the pole crashed through our ceiling. I don’t think we could breathe for several minutes. We were all DYING laughing. My husband hi famously said “it’s just a house, it can be fixed!” As Quan apologized over and over. We were very quickly back to dancing.

3 grown men installing a pop in stripper pole that our roommate randomly gifted us. Why it took 3 people? No clue. But Quan demanded it be put up. Perhaps he had moves planned? We’ll never know because…..(next picture)

Only one snapshot of many many MANY fun nights with Quan and friends. Dancing, smiling, laughing; he kept every party going. His loyalty to his friends is unmatched. If you weren’t laughing, he made sure you were. I’m heartbroken that he lost his way, and I deeply wish that I could give him even a tenth of the happiness he gave others.

Never failed to randomly run into Quan when I was on a trip somewhere. Atlanta airport, or pho in Colorado. And it was always a blast to catch up. I wish I could have one more random run in with him.

After 20 years moving away from Seattle Washington and visiting for the first time, I got to see and hang with my little cousins Tommy and Terry.  But this time they were not so little anymore. They each had a family of their own or were about to have one. One memorable time I had with Terry, Lan and Clara was when he took us to Vancouver. He was like our tour guide and entertained us with us outgoing rambunctious personality.  On the way there, he had the music booming so loud, dancing and bopping to the beat while driving. We were kinda scared but he kept reassuring us that this is how he drives and it keeps him focused on the road. Needless to say, he got us there safely and we all had a great time touring Vancouver. Terry, Chi 2 loves you and you will be forever missed little cuz.

Cau Quan and I were only 10 years apart in age.
Probably the funniest memory of him I have was when I was maybe 8 or 9 years old. It involves taking my sister and I to Walmart to get Nerf guns and the three of us having a battle at home. He kept winning which frustrated me so finally pulled the only trick I knew would lead to a victory: I aimed where the sun doesn't shine — and boy did he see stars. I felt bad later on, but victory was so sweet in the moment. I look back on that time really fondly and will always remember how hard we all laughed.

Our favorite memory of Donny is when we attended a party—it was a friend’s birthday and the theme was “Cowboys vs Goths”.  Donny showed up dressed as both—a goth cowboy and it was so incredibly funny!

Donny was an amazing soul and had a charm about him that naturally drew people to him. He always looked out for his friends. His presence will be missed deeply and we will never forget him.

What a sad day. Quran was my assistant at the underground and my friend. He was hard working dedicated and loyal. I always could count on him to take care of anything I need him to do. You will be missed and hope you find peace In the next life.

Quan Terry Thai, is an honor to serve with him during our small tour in the civil affairs world. Always have that smile and confidence in him all the time. Our condolences and prayers to his family and love ones. Till Valhalla Brother. Rest in Peace.

Quan will be deeply missed. I had the pleasure of serving with him in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was sharp, disciplined and aggressive in a good way. My heart goes out to his family and friends on his loss.
