

Richard (Dick) Carmichael died suddenly in Redmond, Washington on December 27, 2015 at the age of 88 years old. He was born to Alexander and Ida Carmichael and grew up on Beacon Hill where his parents lived throughout their lives. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1945, then enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served for two years. Subsequently, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from which he was honorably discharged in November, 1950. He graduated from Seattle University in 1951 with a degree in Business and Accounting. In 1954 he achieved his Certified Public Accounting license and spent his career as an executive in several business enterprises including H&M Business Products, Savin/Ricoh and C&W Leasing, a commercial lending company that he owned with his son Bart Carmichael until Bart's untimely death in 1997.
Dick married his wife Lucille when he was 28 years old and was a devoted husband and father throughout his life. He enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, gardening, camping, boating, and once climbed Mt. Rainier. He acted as caregiver for Lucille for many years who survives him, along with his children Teresa Revelle, Connie Erion, and Tom Carmichael. He is also survived by grandchildren Greg Revelle, Anna Stock, Brett Erion, Cole Carmichael and Kevin Carmichael, along with four great grandchildren.He was a caring person, always there when someone was in trouble or in need and as he would say, "I'm a nuts and bolts guy, not a talker, but a doer". That describes him very well. He was constantly thinking about how he could make other people's lives better right up until the last day of his life.His request is that any remembrances should be made to your favorite charity'.
