Richard was born on June 8th, 1956, in Montgomery County, VA to Bryce and Mary Jane Davis. He graduated from Glenvar High School in 1974. Richard started his career as a Tool and Die Maker and Robotics Technician at AMP Corporation, continued his career at TYCO, and retired from ASKO in Seattle on June 4th, 2021. Richard moved to the west coast to be with the love of his life, Cheryl. They were married on February 13, 2010.
Richard was a member of Seattle Baptist Church and was an avid motorcycle rider. He was involved with local Seattle area motorcycle meet up groups and participated in many children’s benefit motorcycle runs; he adored children. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and hosting cookouts but, above all things, Richard loved his faith, family, and friends. Richard embraced life to the fullest and had an infectious laugh. He was a loyal friend to many, especially Stig Berg and Tom Richardson. He and Stig rode annually in a cross country ride from his home in Seattle to visit his family and friends in Virginia.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jerry, and brother-in-law Robert. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Davis, and his four children: Cindy Davis, Wendy Roberts (Jon), Thomas Davis (Heather), and Laura Bagley (Tom). He leaves behind his sister, Janet Jackson (Skip), ten grandchildren: Devin, Bryce, Brennon, Trevia, Hanna, Maddox, Holland, SJ, and Holden, one great grandchild, Waylon, numerous nephews and nieces, and his beloved dog Caroline.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 22nd, at Seattle Baptist at 11am, with a viewing at the church beginning at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any of the non-profits that he loved so dearly: Make a Wish Foundation, Seattle Children’s Hospital, or Toys for Tots.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Evergreen-Washelli.com for the Davis family.
