Rodelio Francisco JR, known as "JR", began his stairway to heaven at the age of 35 on August 29th, 2022 at Valley Medical Hospital. He was surrounded by his loved ones as he passed away after a short and unknown battle with complications from diabetes. This was so sudden and completely unexpected. Family and friends of JR are devastated by the loss of such a sweet and charismatic human being. As we mourn JR’s passing, we also celebrate his life.
Born on June 18, 1987 to loving parents Rodelio and Ruby Francisco, JR immediately filled the lives of those around him with joy. He graduated from Franklin high school in 2005 where he led the Cheer Squad as Captain, as well as the Captain of the Dance Team. Outside of school Rodelio earned the rank of Shodan, black belt in Yoshido Goju Ryu Karate. He also proudly dedicated several years to the FYA Drill Team of Seattle where he reached the title of Soldan. Rodelio was a natural born leader who worked hard and was not afraid to take risks in order to live his life the way he wanted to.
JR was the youngest brother of four to Rodericko, Florentino and Roberto. He was also known as the loving “Uncle JR” to Jazasia, Florenzo, Cassius, Makena & Zayden whom he cared for all so dearly. He was a talented performing artist who was passionate about music, dancing and singing. He even wrote original songs and produced an album that he would peddle at the Pike Place Market and Downtown Seattle. JR’s accentuating presence and sassy attitude would command attention in every room he entered. He used those traits volunteering as a Mentor with the Shining Star Youth Organization and host of the Asian American Idol talent competition. JR took great pride in style and fashion, he loved being bright and flashy. He would often be seen wearing flamboyant jewelry pieces from the family business, Ruby’s Seattle Gift Gallery at the Pike Place Market, where he also worked as the retail sales manager.
Anyone who knew Rodelio JR, knew that he was caring, sweet, persistent, charming, entertaining, and just fun to be around. He had an immense passion for making people happy and was full of positivity, sending uplifting and encouraging messages to everyone he came in contact with at every opportunity he could. Family and friends will miss JR, his giggle, smile, warm presence and patting side hugs more than words can explain.
