Roger H. Callarman

Roger was born to Robert Callarman and Katherine Holden. He had two sisters Estelle and Bernice. He spent part of his school years in Port Angeles, WA and returned to Seattle to attend Lincoln High School where he met his first wife Juanita McDonald. They were married in 1930 until her death in 1971. They raised four children: SheilaGordon Hastings of Edmonds, Darlyne Bob Harper of Florida, LeeJudy Callarman of Yakima, and Kirby Callarmandeceased. In 1973 he married Virginia Holden , the widow of his cousin. Her children are Sally Phillips of Montana, BarbaraLarry Miller of Lynnwood, and Mardie Holden of Seattle. In addition he is survived by grandchildren Sheryl Woolsey, Susan White, Glenn Hastings, Carrie Hechtman, Chris Harper, Jay and Jed Callarman and stepgrandchildren Don and Steve Miller, Ann Wiltshire, Jamie Smith and Sarah Smith. His greatgrandchildren are Christina Downie, Donna O'Domin, Sean, Cameron, and Ashlyn Woolsey, Conor and Ian White, Evan Hastings, Vy and Vinh Bui, Nathan, Brynna, and Cole Hechtman, Ben Miller, Aadrial Phillips, Emily Whiltshire, Julietta Laurita-Smith and Nikolai Laurita-Smith.

Roger began work with the Boeing Company in 1933. He worked on the B247 in 1934 and later helped restore one at Paine Field for the Seattle Museum of Flight. His last Boeing assignment ws Supt.of Weapon System Inspection. He travelled to several Bomarc Missle Sites around the USA. After retirement he enjoyed reading and making woodworking gifts for family. He and Virginia did some travelling in his VW van, were volunteers at the Bathhouse Theater, avid Husky and Mariner fans, and played SkipBo in their sunroom.

In December 2000 Roger suffered a severe stroke and moved into Dogwood wing of Crista. Even though he unable to converse, he could comunicate and would welcome all visitors with delight and a big smile. We will miss him very much but realize it was his time to go.
