My whole family was very sad to hear of Ron's passing but rejoice that he is with our Lord and Savior now.  

I was a deacon with Ron for several years at our old church, Exile Presbyterian, in Woodinville.   Ron had a standard of excellence in everything he did serving others there.   I remember he created a wooden template for setting up the chairs, so they were always precisely in line and squared away.   1 Kings 6 speaks to how the temple is to be set up and its dimensions.  Had Ron lived in those days, I have no doubt he would have been selected as temple project manager and it would have been perfect!   I implemented using a yardstick to align the wine/juice cups for the communion table set up and received high praise from Ron for the idea.   I relished that.  Ron was also a great loadmaster on the rental trucks during the many, many times we helped members move.   He was also very tender and gracious as we dealt with some terrible circumstances during our time as deacons.  I enjoyed asking him questions about his time in the Navy and we spoke of that just two weeks before he passed away.  I'll miss Ron and am a better person for having known him.  Much love, prayers and blessings to Dana and the rest of Ron's family.

We are so saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend Ron. We met Ron and Dana at our old church at least 15 years ago. We quickly realized how loving and caring they both are. At the time our girls were young. Ron and Dana quickly became their “church grandparents.” We have fond memories of going to RoundTable pizza after church. It was a weekly routine that led to a wonderful and lasting friendship. We would discuss books we were reading and the daily events of life. Ron loved his military history books, playing golf, and his grandchildren. But his love and care for Dana was always evident and a great example for a younger husband and father. Ron led his family well and that leading extended to others around him. His quiet example was a blessing to me. We will miss Ron and are thankful to have spent time with he and Dana and are grateful to have been able to be part of his life.

When Dan and I were going through our pre-marital counseling with Pastor Brad 30 years ago, he encouraged us to chose a Mentor Couple, a couple we admired who could give us advice and hold us accountable. Dan and I are blessed to have so many godly pairings in our life! It was hard to choose but after much discussion we agreed to ask Ron and Dana Paxton to take us on. They relished the role and took their responsibilities quite seriously. There was a weekly Bible study, frequent check ins, I’m sure daily prayer on their part, dinners out and celebrations. They rejoiced with us at the births of our daughters and we celebrated with them the joy of welcoming grandchildren. We all enjoyed Family Camp at Black Lake and I have many memories of connecting with Ron there.  I know Ron and my father Ken have greeted each other warmly in heaven! Thank you Dana and family for sharing Ron with us.

Dying while enjoying a day of golf with Julie. I'm thinking that's not such a bad way to end his life.  Sad for his wife Dana Sue and for his children and grandchildren, his and Dana's extended families,  his friends and church member - all who knew him will grieve his passing. RIP Ron.
