Ron was born to Philip and Flora Paxton in Greeneville, Tennessee. He graduated from Marietta High School in Marietta, OH and attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee before enlisting in the US Navy in 1960. He was a proud patriot and served aboard the USS Midway in the South Pacific.
He married Dana Sue in 1964 and they were blessed with two children and four grandchildren during their 59 years of marriage. He cherished his role as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
After leaving the Navy in 1968, his career at Rocket Research Company spanned more than three decades and several company name changes before he retired in 2004.
Ron loved the Lord and was a faithful member of several local churches over the past 48 years (United Evangelical Free Church, Northshore Baptist Church, Exile Presbyterian Church and currently Trinity Reformed Baptist Church in Kirkland, WA). One of his greatest joys was serving his church family, especially in children’s ministry.
Ron is survived by his wife, Dana Sue; children Julie (William) Bircher and Ian Paxton; grandchildren Zachary Bircher, Allison Bircher, Ashlynn Paxton and Coleston Paxton. He is preceded in death by his sister, Janet Mahraun and parents, Philip and Flora Paxton.
