Rose Virginia Jones was born Rose Rollins on January 15, 1930 in St. Albins, West Virginia. She had 1 brother and 3 sisters. She married her high school sweetheart James Jones in 1948. They moved to Seattle in 1958, where they completed their family and lived their life together. They made their home in the Beacon Hill neighborhood.
Rose was a devout Catholic. She was loved by everyone she met. Many would tell you that she never spoke unkindly of others, and she was one of the sweetest women you could meet. Rose had a great laugh. She was an artist. She loved opera and ballet. She enjoyed travelling with her friends after she lost her husband.
She worked at the Bon Marche for 38 years. Rose began her career there as a waitress in the café. Eventually she became a sales associate of women's clothing. She was always quite stylish, and she helped many women to be the same during her tenure at the Bon. She earned many sales awards and truly loved her career there.
Rose was preceded in death by 2 of her children, her husband and all her siblings. She is survived by 6 of her 8 children: Jim, Karen, Larry, Terry, Lynn and Craig. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Her children wish to thank the staff of Spring Ridge Assisted Living & Memory Care in Tacoma, where Rose lived her final years. Their loving care of "Mama Rose" was very much appreciated.
