Born August 8, 1906 in Aberdeen SD; passed away April 15, 2004 in Lynnwood at age 97. At the time of his passing, he was the oldest Boy Scout in the US, a member from 1917-2004. Having worked two and a half lifetimes, he retired at age 92. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Jordan and her husband Paul of Shoreline, Joyce Bovey and her husband Dan of Everett, Janice Higby and her husband Spence of Oroville and a son, James Waak and his wife Mila of Kent; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Ethel, of 68 years of marriage in 1997. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 3, 2:00PM; University Christian Church 4731 15th Ave NE. Seattle. Private committal, Evergreen Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to The Boy Scouts of America.
