Betty Jo Gregory McGinty

Betty Jo Gregory McGinty, 75, of Seguin passed away on July 14, 2012. She was born January 20, 1937 in Smiley, Texas to Lucile Russell and Gilbert James Gregory. Betty was raised in Yoakum, Texas and graduated A&I University in Kingsville in 1957. She met Billy Ross McGinty on a blind date while she was teaching in Victoria and they were married on November 14, 1959. She has been called Babe, Mom, Nannie, Jody, Jo, Aunt Jo, Betty Jo and Betty by those who knew her best. Betty was a member of First United Methodist Church in Seguin.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of almost 53 years, Billy Ross McGinty; daughter Kim and son-in-law Rusty Smith; son Mike and daughter-in-law Sue; six grandchildren, Amanda Gail Krueger, Callie Jo Krueger, Patrick Ross McGinty, Kevin Michael McGinty, Kelly Rose McGinty and Dalton Russell Smith; sisters, Sally Redford, Jerry Bargsley and her husband Steve; brother-in-law Irvin Granberry; sister-in-laws, Barbara Quinney and her husband Bill, Sandra Wolff and her husband Bubba and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lou Granberry and her brother –in-law Jack Redford.

A visitation will be held in the Goetz Memorial Chapel on Monday, July 23rd 2012 from 7 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will commence at First United Methodist Church in Seguin with interment following at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
