Pedro Nanez Alvarado Jr.

Pedro Alvarado, surrounded by family, entered into rest in the arms of God on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Nesbitt Nursing Home in Seguin, Texas at the age of 69. He was preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Teresa, his son Christopher John Alvarado; his brother Joe Alvarado and his sister Maria Barrientos.

Please join Pedro’s family on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 for a time of visitation at Goetz Funeral Home 713 N. Austin St. Seguin from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary service at 7:00. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Pedro at his funeral mass at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church 409 West Krezdorn Street, Seguin. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery on East Walnut Street in Seguin.

Pedro, a loving, giving, hard working family man was born March 10, 1945 in Seguin, Texas to Pedro and Teresa (Nanez) Alvarado Sr. He was raised here in Geronimo, started working at the age of 13, married Mary Sandoval in 1963 and together they raised five beautiful children. Pedro was a skilled carpenter who would work from dawn to dark seven days a week until a stroke left him debilitated at the age of 57. Pedro would do everything he could for his children and grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his real determination; he would never give up.

Pedro leaves behind his wife Mary Alvarado, his daughters Sylvia Alvarez and her husband Antonio; Rosemary A. Gil and her husband Reynaldo; Barbara Ann Alvarez and her husband Samuel G.; and Niomi Bruns and her husband Jeremy. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Christopher J. Flores and his wife Julia; Samuel G. Alvarez Jr.; Antonio Alvarez Jr.; Reynaldo Gil Jr.; Jamie Jay Alvarez and his wife Anita; Bianca Gil; Angel Alvarez; Jayla Bruns and Cameron Bruns. He will also be greatly missed by his great-grandchildren Crystal Flores; Christopher James Flores Jr.; Adahlynn Alvarez; Anaya Lopez; Jamie Jay Alvarez Jr.; Jacob Alvarez; Ay’brielle Gil; Ala’zay Lopez and Ivan Lopez. Pedro also leaves behind his siblings: Teresa De La Cruz and her husband Condor; Adela Barrientos and her husband Theodore; Janie Hernandez and her husband Gumencindo; Ignacia Marin, Nancy Spittler and her husband Joe, Lupe Villarreal, Johnny Alvarado and his wife Nora; Jesse Alvarado and his wife Silvia.

Pallbearers will be Antonio Alvarez Jr.; Samuel G. Alvarez Jr. Jamie Jay Alvarez; Christopher James Flores; Johnny Alvarado; Jerry Villarreal; and Jesse Alvarado as an honorary pallbearer.
