

Annie graduated from high school in Birmingham, Alabama, where she received both her high school diploma and a secretarial certificate. In 1954, she married the love of her life, Everett Olin Thornton. Annie dedicated many years of her life as a secretary to the Medical Director at Bay Pines VA Hospital.
Outside of her professional life, Annie was known for her vibrant spirit and diverse interests. She had a deep passion for golf, judo, bingo, and shuffleboard, which brought her joy and fulfillment throughout her life.
Annie is survived by her loving children: Teresa L. Meeks, Diane Rhoton, and John E. Thornton; her grandchildren: Shauna Lyn Ellis, Benjamin Farish, Jonathan Farish, Leah Rhoton, Alayna Francois, Eric L. Rhoton Jr., John E. Thornton Jr., and Laurie Ann Lugo; as well as her eight cherished great-grandchildren.
Annie's warmth, kindness, and zest for life touched the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she graced.
A celebration of Annie's life will be held at Garden Sanctuary Funeral Home 7950 131st Street N, Seminole, FL 33776 on March 23rd, 2024 at 10:00am.
