

MITTS, Audrey R., 94, of Pinellas Park, FL passed away Friday, December 3, 2010. She was born of English parentage in Detroit, MI and moved to Florida in 1972 from Fenton, MI, where she and her late husband, Edward, owned and operated Mitts Greenhouse. After the nursery business was sold, she attended nursing school at McPherson School in Howell, Michigan and graduated at the top of her class while in her 40's. After receiving her nursing certificate, she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse including many years at Fenton Convalescent Home, where her mother-in-law was a resident. She was a former long time member of Fenton United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir, the Wesley Fellowship, and the Lamplighters. She also served as a Sunday School teacher. and enjoyed religious, classical and jazz music. In later years, her past times still tended to be mentally challenging, as in outsmarting contestants on "Jeopardy", and consistently winning friendly games of Scrabble.
Her smile was ready, sweet, and infectious. She was at all times an affectionate, selfless and supportive wife and mother. She was deeply devoted to all family members and friends, with whom she shared many happy and fulfilling times.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward B; brothers, Douglas and Clarence Ridholls, and a sister, Doreen Ridholls.
Survivors include a son, Edward D “Ted” of New York, NY; a daughter, Mary Anne Shah of Lansing, MI; grandchildren, Sabrina Wilcox and Andrew Shah, and great grandchildren, Sakari and Reina Wilcox.
Visitation held from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. where funeral services will be officiated by Reverend Jeremy Peters of Fenton United Methodist at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2010 at Temrowski Funeral Home, 500 Main Street, Fenton, MI 48430 / 810-629-2533.
Burial followed the funeral services approximately at 3:00 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Fenton, Michigan.
