Colleen Marie Schnitzler

Colleen M. Schnitzler, 61 years old, passed away December 2, 2020. Colleen was born on November 23, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY. She moved to Oceanside, NY in her early adulthood. In 1994, she decided the winters were too cold and moved to Seminole FL. She loved living in Seminole and cherished her condo overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Colleen woke early every morning to catch the serenity and beauty of the sunrises as well as the sunsets at night. She truly enjoyed capturing them every day. She enjoyed listening to the soft sounds of Josh Groban, Barry Manilow and Yanni but also loved Bon Jovi since the 80’s. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Schnitzler. She is survived by her two brothers, John (Becky) and Gerry Schnitzler. She loved them with her whole heart and at times they were inseparable. They enjoyed traveling together, talking, family barbeques, playing board games and cards, and singing from “the book”. They would laugh uncontrollably when they got together and created so many memories and stories to pass along. She is also survived by her nieces Stephanie Marra (Curtis), Christina Dix (Joshua), and her nephew Bryan Schnitzler (Siana), as well as great nephews (Anthony Schnitzler and CJ Marra) and great nieces (Jestin Sims, Kaitlyn Marra, Aulani Dix, Zara Dix, Luna Dix and Shea Sullivan) all of whom will miss her terribly. Colleen was a fierce, strong and an independent woman who said what she wanted and did what she said. She had no reservations to take charge and take care of matters which needed attention. Since moving to Florida, she worked as a Regional Network Manager at Pall Corporation where she had the opportunity to travel and to train others in computer IT. She recently retired in 2018 so she could enjoy life. Colleen was loved by her family and she will forever be missed.

Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you.

Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.

Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.

Continue traditions, no matter how small.

Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls
