Elvira was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she received a degree in Education and taught elementary school. As a Missionary for the Disciples of Christ Church, she went to Paraguay where she worked in the Mission. She earned her Master’s degree in religious education and went to work in the field of Christian Education in Falls Church, VA. Later she worked as Director of Christian Education at the United Methodist Church in Wilksburg, PA and at Armstrong Chapel U.M. Church in Cincinnati, OH. She then pursued certification as a Montessori teacher and went to work for the Great Oaks School System where she taught Child Development and Guidance at Live Oaks in Milford, OH for 25 years, before retiring to Seminole.
Elvira is survived by her dear friend Donald Mahoney, Seminole. A memorial service will be held 11 am on February 18, 2020 at Oakhurst United Methodist Church, 13400 Park Blvd, Seminole.
