Affectionally known as "Momma"
October 24, 1931 – March 7, 2018
Born in Derby Line, VT to John W. and Lenora (Powers) Greenwood, the youngest and only remaining sibling. She was predeceased by her parents: John 1980, Lenora 1984, Francis 1996, Raymond 2006, Talcott 1995, Gwendolyn 1988 and Glendon 2010. On November 21, 1956 she married the love of her life, best friend and absolute partner, Joseph E. Guertin and shared 32 wonderful years together raising their two children Joleta A., of Florida and John A., of Austin Texas. Euleta is also survived by several nieces and nephews in New England, Virginia, Canada and Florida. Joseph went to heaven on February 2, 1988.
Euleta spent 60 years working as an accountant for: The Experiment: School of International Living, Holstein Friesain, Boucher and Morrow CPA, Gateway and Fineline Mobile Home Sales and Country Kitchen all located in VT and NH. In 1981 Joseph, Euleta and John moved to sunny Florida where she resumed work in 1986 for Hill, Hiepe and Douchow CPA and retired from there October 31, 2011 at the age of 80. Euleta’s most favorite time of the year was tax return season when she would prepare returns for longtime friends, neighbors, new acquaintances and her children, all with one goal in mind; “How much of a refund can we get back from the IRS.”
Euleta enjoyed her travels both up and down the east coast to visit family in the summer and partake of fresh vegetables and berries. She also enjoyed cruising both eastern and western Caribbean Islands, Panama Canal, the Cayman Islands and Alaska.
One thing Euleta gave to her children was to be their “best friend” no matter what the circumstance. In return she expected only one thing: HONESTY.
Euleta shared a home with Joleta from 1998 until she was reunited with Joseph. Her son John visited frequently from all his destinations; New York, Virginia, Georgia and Texas.
Her children wish to acknowledge the outstanding, loving care given to Euleta by Mike Wesley Delores Brown and Carmen Thacker; her awesome Hospice Team of Miles, Del, Vanessa, Adrienne, Ken, Jerry and George for the past 2 years.
Special thanks to Drs. Eduardo Martinez, John G. Finn, Abraham Awwad, Scott Greene and all their staff and the superior care, concern and unending support.
At Joseph and Euleta’s request there will be no services. Burial will be in the family plot at the children’s convenience.
