Harry G Lisberger Jr, 94, of Redington Shores FL passed away on March 12, 2021. He was born to the late Harry G Lisberger Sr and Mary Lynott Lisberger on 2/23/1927 in Brooklyn NY. Harry graduated from James Madison HS. He also attended CCNY. Harry enlisted in the US Navy in February 1945. He served in the Pacific during WWII
Harry married his dearly beloved wife, Julia Mylott, in Brooklyn, NY on May 21, 1949. They lived in Brooklyn NY, then moved to Massapequa Park, NY in 1955 to raise their three children, Harry, Susan, and Donna. They were married for 49 years. Julia passed on 8/23/1998. After Julia’s passing, he was very fortunate to meet Ella Kamp; his friend and companion for the last 20 years of his life.
Harry had a very successful career in commercial mortgage lending. He worked for Dry Dock Savings Bank, Dime Savings bank, and the New York Bank for Savings where he was Vice President. Upon retirement he and Julia moved to the Tampa Bay area. He volunteered a lot of time to the Massapequa Park community. He was a devout Catholic and donated much of his time to Our Lady of Lourdes church and school. He was an usher, a lector, a scripture reader; he ran bingo and assisted in many fund raising functions. In addition, he was a cub scout leader, a Little League baseball coach and umpire and a youth football referee. He was an avid golfer most of his life, playing multiple times a week in retirement.
Harry is survived by his three children, Harry, Susan and Donna; his daughter and son-in-law, Joanne Lisberger and George Petrilyak; his grandchildren, William, Steven, James, John, Andrew and Julie; and his companion, Ella.
A celebration of Harry's life will be held from 3-7pm Thursday, April 8th, 2021 at Garden Sanctuary Funeral Home, 7950 131st St N, Seminole, FL 33776. A funeral mass will be held the next day 10am Friday, April 9th, at St, Frances X. Cabrini Catholic Church, 5030 Mariner Blvd, Spring Hill, FL 34609, followed by inurnment at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 12:30pm where Harry will be laid to rest.
