Iyanna Sarah Lawes

On June 18, 2013 a beautiful angel came into the world. Her name would be Iyanna Sarah. She was a fighter from day one. She had to overcome many tests and surgeries to be able to make it home. She would change everyone’s life that came in contact with her. Iyanna would spend 4 months in All Children’s NICU. In October the sweet little angel would be able to come home. Having her home would bring excitement and nervousness to all who loved her. In 2014 Iyanna became a big sister to Isabella and she was the best big sister ever. They would develop a beautiful bond that will never be broken. Iyanna would go on to do so many amazing things in her 9 years of life. Iyanna has amazed everyone whom she meets. To know Iyanna is to love her. In 2017 Iyanna would start Pre-K and there was no looking back. Even though Iyanna was nonverbal there was always an intelligence in her eyes then in 2019 her mother discovered how truly intelligent she was. Her mom discovered Iyanna could do college level work and that she had a photographic memory. Every year that God blessed us with her she had a wonderful birthday party to celebrate her beautiful life. This past year one of Iyanna’s major accomplishments was being able to sit up by herself for 2 min with the help of her physical therapist. In just 9 years of life she taught people to forgive, to love, to laugh and never to complain. Everyday she would wake up singing a beautiful song that was on her heart. One of many lessons to learn from her praise God in all your circumstances. I always told Iyanna that she was my hero and everyday she proved to me why because of her strength. Now our sweet angel in resting in the arms of Jesus and I’m so happy that all she knew in her life was love. I pray that one day we will see that beautiful face again and that she will be running towards us.
