James Landon Gillespie (“Jaime”) passed away peacefully on March 6, 2018. He was born November 19, 1956 in Anderson, South Carolina. He is preceded in death by his father, Frank I. Gillespie and all his grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Normajeanne Anderson, his sister, Nana Gillespie (Barry) Westmark of Pinellas County; brother, Frank R. (Jennifer) Gillespie and nephews, Michael Glenn and Eli Landon Gillespie and nieces, Margaret Caroline and Ellie Grace Gillespie of Villa Rica, Georgia.
Jaime and his family moved to Louisville, KY while his father finished his advanced degree in theology. In February 1969 the family moved to Clearwater Beach, FL. Jaime and Nana made friends easily with the neighborhood children. Jaime attended JFK Junior High School, Clearwater High School and St. Petersburg College. Jaime had an excellent voice and played saxophone in numerous bands in the area. He also attended a vocational school where he studied engineering technology. He stayed in the field of electronics where he learned business machines, and opened his own business which he operated for over 15 years.
In later years, Jaime suffered from poor health but still found the strength to care for his mother. Indian Rocks Beach was his last home where he soaked up the sun and fished in the Gulf of Mexico.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 17 from 1 PM to 3PM, with a service at 3:30 PM at the Garden Sanctuary, 7950 131st St N, Seminole, FL 33776.
