

LEBOHNER, Robert G., 77, of Seminole, FL., formerly of Bohemia, Long Island, N.Y. moved to Florida in 1979, entered into eternal rest, Sunday, March 13, 2011after a 3 year struggle with Alzheimer's under the care of VA Bay Pines Hospice.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years Ellen (Ellie). They were married September 14, 1957 at St. Boniface Church in Elmont, Long Island, N.Y. He is remembered by his loving sons, Raymond J. and Robert W. (Bobby); his daughter-in-law, Deborah; His brother, Kenneth and sister-in-law, Elinore of Aquebogue, Long Island; cherished grandfather of Jessica Lea and Jami Ellen of Seminole, FL; nephew, John of Hollbrook, niece, Jacqueline Keller of Baiting Hollow, L.I. He was born in Floral Park, L.I., to Delores March and Richard C. Lebohner on April 4, 1934. A descendant of the farming Rottkamp family of Valley Stream, L.I.
He was a US Air Force Veteran stationed on Resolution Island, Artic from 1951 - 1955. He was a volunteer fireman from January 1960 and was Ex-Captain of the Copiague Fire Department Eagle Engine Company 1967. A member of the Bohemia volunteer fire department 1974. A life member of New York State Firemen’s Association. FSNY. He took an active role with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 438 in Bohemia as an assistant scoutmaster, where both sons achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. A member of Suffolk County BSA round table staff. In March 1976, he completed Woodbadge training and earned his beads. Off to Gilwell England, he became a member of Troop #1. He retired to Seminole, FL. from Johnson Electric, Hauppague and I.B.E.W. Local 25 where he specialized in Traffic lights and fire department alarm systems as an electrician. A life member of Bay Pines Holiday Isles DAV Chapter 13. Proud member of the American Legion Greater Gulf Beach Post 273, Madeira Beach, Florida. In his retirement, he enjoyed travel that most people only dream of from Kutzboo, Alaska, Sydney, Australia, Tunisia, North Africa with his Ellie. His contagious smile and sparkling blue eyes will be missed by his family and all who knew him. His disability enabled him to concentrate on becoming a genealogy expert, tracing his roots back from Germany to Ellis Island. He included all certificates to verify the accuracy of all dates.

A memorial mass celebrated 1 pm, May 4, 2011 at Saint Kilian, 425 Conklin Street, Farmingdale, L.I., NY 11735. Our friend Auxiliary Bishop, John C. Dunne will offer the sacrifice of the mass for all four family and friends in NY.
Visitations held Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 11-1 pm, 3-5 pm and 6-8 pm and Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from 10 – 12:30 pm at the funeral home. Procession departs promptly at 2 pm Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from American Legion, Post 273, 600 American Legion Dr., Madeira Beach, FL 33708 to Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., St. Petersburg, FL. 33708 where funeral services and Military Honors will be rendered by American Legion, Post 273.
