

Nancy was born Aug. 15, 1937 in Ketchikan, Alaska to Edward M. Kounkel and Violet Rose Routley (Kounkel). She passed away on Mar. 28, 2012 at her home in Sequim.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harland G. Brooks; and her brother, Bob Kounkel.
She graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle in 1955. She had various jobs in her life including working for Boeing, The Seattle P.I, and the Seattle Police Dept. She grew up in Seattle and before moving to Sequim in 2000 she resided in Bellevue on Glendale Golf & Country Club.
She was a member of SunLand Golf & Country Club and played in the ladies group, the couples group and volunteered countless hours volunteering at the club. She also was involved in the auctions held by the Boys & Girls Club and the Museum and Arts Center.
She is survived by her sister, Patricia Fizer of Sacramento, CA., and her five children; her brother Gerald E. Kounkel of Kelso, WA. Also surviving are four nephews and her best friend of 40 years, Ruth Lowe.
A gathering of friends will be held April 7th from 2-5 at the Sunland Golf & Country Club.
