Clyde Ramon Babson

Mr. Babson was born in Brunswick County on August 22, 1934 and was the son of the late Lester and Ione King Babson. He retired from Federal Paper Company of Riegelwood after 39 years of employment. Mr. Babson was a member of New Britton Baptist Church. He was a member of Shallotte Lodge #727 A.F & A.M. and also a member South Brunswick Islands Shrine Club and the Brunswick County Shrine Club. He was a member of the Shallotte Fire Department for ten years. He was preceded in death by a son, Barry Dean Babson.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Diane Babson of the home; a son, David Babson and wife Charlotte of Ash; two grandchildren, Zack Babson and wife Katelyn of Raleigh and Erica Babson Batounis and husband John of Lincolnton; five great grandchildren, Ellie Segura, Grayson Segura, Finn Batounis, Dean Babson and Meroe Babson; two sisters in-law, Fay High and Lois Martin of Dallas, N.C. and numerous extended family members.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 2, 2025 at two o’clock in the afternoon at New Britton Baptist Church, 5494 Kingtown Rd NW, Ash, NC, with Reverend Sterling Sarvis and Reverend Larry Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites accorded by Shallotte Lodge #727 A.F. & A.M.

Pallbearers will be, Ashley Hobson, Justin Hobson, Jerome Walker, Whitney King, Mark Strickland, Dennis Martin and Rob Hedrick.

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30pm until 1:45pm.
