Irene Paulsen Hewett

Irene was born January 1, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt Paulsen and Angelina Patorra Paulsen. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Laverne Huddleston and a step-grandson, Robert Beck Jr. . She was a retired Laboratory Technician and Teacher from Brunswick Community College. Irene was an avid reader and enjoyed watching periodical movies and playing games and cards.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Hewett; four children, Janice Yow of Wilmington, Richard Huddleston of Wilmington, Keith Huddleston of Crusoe Island, Kevin Long of Boiling Spring Lakes; three stepchildren, Frank Hewett Jr. of Raleigh, Annette Simmons of Wilmington, Deborah Beck(Robert) of Bolivia; grandchildren, Keith Yow (Meagan), Angela Davis (Jonathan Etheridge), Elishia Grice (Bill), Katie Rogers, Richard Huddleston (Sammy), Christy Piner (Derrick), Joseph Huddleston and Anthony Huddleston; step grandchildren, Patrick Hewett, Sky Simmons, Holly Simmons,Robin Johnson; great-grandchildren, Jadan, Blake, Rosemary, Natalie, Cameron, Olivia, Dylan, Noah, McKenzi and Gerald; step-great grandchildren, Joshua, Ava, McKenzie, Hunter and Luke; a her faithful canine companion, Bella.

A memorial service will be held Friday September 9, 2022 at seven o'clock in the evening at the Lou White Memorial Chapel of White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte with Reverend Patrick Hall officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
