My wife, Barbara and I send our sincere condolences.I worked with James at Thurston Motor Lines for many years and my wife grew up at Mills Home with James as well as worked with him. He was a wonderful person. Our prayers are with you.

James was one the best Freight Men I've ever known He was Old School he was Strong and he was fair..He always treated me with respect and you can't ask more from anyone..I'm proud and honored to have known him..

James and I lived together at Mills Home, and lived and worked together in Charlotte after high school.  We had been keeping in touch by phone for the past two years.  The last time we talked was Thursday before he left us the following Tuesday.  I was on the beach fishing at the Outer Banks, and the last thing he said was to catch him a fish and that he loved me.  James was a good friend, and I will surely miss him.

James was a good man and a hard worker. He was funny and very fair. I remember one time when the dockworkers at estes was working 6 days a week because it was that busy. I would be so tired that I would fall asleep on my girlfriend. I told James about it and his response to me was , "Well Son if you really liked her in the first place, you would not have felled asleep on her," ---lol---Anyway he let me have that weekend off.

It saddens me that I didnt take time to go see him. But I thank God for the conversion we had 3 weeks ago sharing memories and laughing about the time I came to work dress like him. He will be missed and he loved what he did being around the people he worked with. David Sansing

I worked many years with James @ Estes Express Lines Charlotte NC. Even though he was always busy with operations of running our terminal he was never too busy to listen to our concerns no matter how small they were. I Will Never Forget how he addressed me and all drivers. Come on in SON have a seat now what can I do for you?  That's the way he treated us,ie: Like Family...He will be missed.
