Wendell Eugene Bennett

Mr. Bennett was born in Brunswick County on December 4, 1934 and was the son of the late John Manley Bennett and Beulah Long Bennett. He was a retired farmer and also retired from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Department. He was a member and Past-Master of Shallotte Lodge #727 A.F. & A.M. Mr. Bennett was an avid deer hunter and member of the Seashore hunting club and an avid gardener. He was preceded in death by his wife Annie Ruth Bennett.

He is survived by two children, David Bennett of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Susan Bennett of Calabash, N.C.; a brother, D. Emery Bennett of Wilmington, N.C and a very special friend, Inez Jones of Ash;

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday September 13th, 2017 at eleven o’clock in the morning at Beulah Baptist Church with Reverend Doug Adams and Reverend Dan Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Manley Bennett Cemetery with Masonic Rites accorded by Shallotte Lodge 727 A.F. & A.M.

Serving as pallbearers will be, David Bennett, Michael Gore, Jordan Wilkes, Bob Long, Larry Anderson and Michael Bennett.

Friends are invited to a time of visitation with the family Tuesday evening September 12th from six o’clock until nine o’clock at White Funeral Service, 3660 Express Dr. Shallotte
