David Freund

Born in Davenport, Iowa, Dave was the only child of Harold and Anne (nee Wafer) Freund. He graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. Dave married the love of his life, Ann Komassa in Milwaukee, and was the proud father of 2 children. He worked as a Research Chemist at Sanofi-Aventis until his retirement in 2002.

Dave was an avid cyclist and enjoyed following both professional cycling and winter sports.

Preceded in death by his wife, Ann, daughter Danielle, his parents, father-in-law William, mother-in-law Estelle and brother-in-law, Carl.

Survived by son, John, aunt Mary Freund, sister-in-law, Karen, and brothers-in-law Michael (Nancy), Bill (Gordonna), Ken (Sandy), Tom (Deb), Dave (Donna), Bruce (Tracy), John (Donna), cherished nieces and nephews and their children, and his many friends whom he considered as extended family.

Dave was a model for how a man should deal with the personal adversities life can throw at you. His ready smile and laugh, love of life and family, and genuine value he placed in every relationship will be remembered as traits everyone should practice during good times and bad.

Memorial gathering at St. Michael’s Catholic Church at 11144 Spinner Ave., Sharonville, Ohio 45241 on Friday, February 7, from 9-10AM. Mass to follow at 10AM.
