Jenny, I miss my mom too. With her baby brother dying last week it has been emotional , but I know they are together and happy and healthy, so life goes on and we will always miss them but look forward to joining them some day in our ever lasting life. Love you Jenny.

I can not beleive it has been a year since you went to be with God.  It feels like it's only been a very short time.  I feel you with me everyday and I know that you feel how much you are loved. Emily came home for a short visit this week and when she made her plans a few weeks ago she thought she would be seeing you too.  I'm so sorry the two of you didn't get that visit. It was so wonderful to spend some time with her.

Today is mother's day and for the first time in my life you aren't here.  It is such an overwhelming feeling. Missing you is so very hard and it only seems to be getting harder every day. Hearing your voice and seeing your smile was always comforting and always made me happy.

So sorry for your loss. Was a nurse aide at Venetian Gardens in Goshen when I helped in taking care of Virginia. My heart goes out to the family. Had not worked at the company for a couple of years but am saddened by her loss. She was a lovely woman and a joy to be around. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Grandma, 
You were the best Grandma ever!  So kind and sweat you were so easy to be around and spend time with.  You took an active interest in the lives of your grandchildren and we all remember and appreciate it so very much.  As the baby of the bunch I have so many great memories to share.  One of my first memories is spending the weekend with you at Great Grandma Banes house.    Great Grandma had a funny sense of humor and I remember she would give me random things from around the house when I would leave such as a plastic potted plant.  I also remember spending countless weekends in your little apartment in Montgomery.   You would let me brush and curl your hair over and over again.  You also had the best collection of old vintage shoes and costume jewelry.  I still remember the jewelry box and the big earrings and necklaces.  I so wish I had that jewelry box today.  I remember waking up in the morning in your big bed and starring at Kenny Rodgers. Yes, Grandma had a framed picture of Kenny on the wall by her bed.   I also remember your scrambled eggs.  You made the best scrambled eggs and I make mine the same way to this day.  They were nothing special really but my mom use to add milk to hers (to get more bang for her buck) and grandma didn’t.  Just butter, salt and pepper……so yummy.  Another memory, which cannot be ignored, is our incessant shopping sprees.  We would shop for hours and hours at a time.  Going into every store imaginable shopping for Christmas gifts or whatever occasion there was.  You liked to get everyone on her list in one trip so we would shop until it was all done no matter how long it took.  I also learned how to drive in your old Nissan, which I’m sure you remember too.  Since you came to most of my soccer games I remember driving to and from with my learners permit.  So many fond memories I could go on and on.
Grandma , you were such a great lady who loved your family dearly.  We all have so many great memories to hold onto and you will not be forgotten.  I love you so much and appreciate the love and support you gave to me over the years.

Grandma ( or great-grandma as Kendra and Jenna refer to her) was a wonderful full of life woman.  I am so grateful to have gotten to know her and spend so much time with her.  She was always a huge part of the family gatherings with her wonderful smile and laughter filling the room with warmth and kindness.  I deeply miss her and am so saddened by her death.  I will always cherish my special memories of her forever.  It is a tribute to her daughter Jenny for making sure Grandma was always "in the know" and part of what was going on.  I will forever remember that special time many years ago when Jenny brought Grandma to Boston to visit with us and the girls. We went to Marblehead and the ocean on a beautiful warm Spring sunny day.  It was a great trip for all.  To all of Grandma's family, you are all in my thoughts at this most difficult time. Times like these sure are hard for us loved ones to bear. Whether it be swift and quick or long and suffering, the pain remains the same.  Our time on this planet is relatively a short one. Spreading joy, happiness and comfort to all those we come in contact keeps our memories alive. that's what your mother, grandmother did for all those she was with. Not one day went by that she didn't do that not only for her family but others outside of it. Each time I got to see her she always made me feel as a part of her extended family, showing me the kindness and love that she would you all as well. My Grandmother Virginia is such a kind soul. She lived a peaceful existence. She was never judgmental or harsh. Grandma always had a way of making each one of us feel special and important. All I ever received from her was love and tenderness. She was in pain for the last 30 years of her life, but somehow managed to get through each day without pain medication. What a tough lady. She was independent and strong.

I so enjoyed our time together. One of my fondest memories as a child is of all the Sundays that she, my Mother Sandy, my sister Emily and I spent at Maple Knoll visiting my Great-Grandmother Alma. It was always the highlight of my week. 

The last year got increasingly tougher for her. My Mom Sandy and Aunt Jenny, as well as Uncle Ron and my Stepdad Mike, spent much of their time visiting her and ensuring her care, which certainly was no easy job. I know she would not have lived as well or for as long as she did, were it not for Mom and Jenny’s constant attention.  I am so glad she is no longer in pain or suffering, she is truly at rest. We all love her so much and will miss her terribly. What an amazing lady.

Very sorry to hear of your families loss. After getting to know Ginny from the years she lived at Golden View Acres, I always looked forward to the many stories. She was never short on them and almost all were about her wonderful family. She always talked about how wonderful she felt all her family was. A wonderful person that will certainly be missed. The Simplicity of Joy
This is what comes to my heart as I sit quietly, reflecting on the essence of your life to me: simple joy.  Not happiness, but joy.  Something deeper, more penetrating, gentle, and sweet.  It is your gift of living contently amidst your life’s circumstances.  How you approached the vocations and responsibilities of your life with loyalty, trustworthiness, and determination.  It is how you saw the extraordinary in the mundane of life: the cheer of a baseball game, the love of your grandchildren performing and playing games, the highly peppered scrambled eggs on Christmas morning, and your delight in a great-grandchild’s smile.  I smile when I think of these endearing memories: changing my name to “Todd, Brad, Keith!”  Your impeccable ability to always pronounce some names the wrong way despite years of correction; for loving my wife as your own grand-daughter; your love for Huggy-Bear and the Big Red Machine; that my son and daughter have memories of you and pray for you daily at dinner; when you got stuck in the elevator; how loud you snored; and your laugh.  But most of all your smile.  Your presence was always so warm and inviting and charming.  Simple memories that collectively made my world as a child feel safe, predictable, and comforting.  You lived the ordinary so extraordinarily.  Your presence brought much delight to my life.  For me, you are a symbol of simple joy.  I pray that you may now delight in the joy and peace that surpasses all understanding.  And may the God who is, who was, and is to come hold you gently in the palm of His hand.

Things I'm grateful for about Ginny Santel

That she always treated me like her actual grandaughter
That she was big on hugs and laughter
That every interaction was filled with kindness
That she saw the best in those she loved
That she raised two daughters that loved her well
That she told stories about Cumberland and a life that has wonderful nostalgia
That she made every one of Keith's ball games
That she loved her sports teams
That she always said things like "Isn't she precious" and "dear"
That she occupies the most prominent grandmother memories in my mind. With my own grandmother's passing so long ago, she filled a spot that no one else could. 
That she passionately loved my kids and all her grands and great grands
That she delighted in a simple bird feeder from my kids. 
That my children love her so much
That she showed me joy even when her life was not always easy
That my kids most remember her as a happy person
That she observed even simple every day things as miracles...especially when she watched children
That she was a friend to so many around her apartment and the Venetian
That she had a cute southern twang
That she always had an encouraging word for me
That she was one of the dearest kind spirits I've known. 

Virginia, You will be missed greatly. I am truly a better person for knowing you. I pray that a thread of your joy and kindness runs deep through my children, for then your blessings will go on and on. Thank you for the gift of yourself to all of us.

What I like about great grandma is that she was a great great great grandma. I like that she has white hair and is so old. I wish that she has a happy life. I'm sorry that I wouldn't ride in her wheelchair. I was just three when I didn't want to do that and probably if I was four when I could do that I would definitely do that again. When we gave her a bird feeder she was happy. I just love great grandma. I'm sad that we won't be able to see her again. But I'm happy that she is going to see Jesus.

What I like about great grandma is that she was a very kind grandma. She was a caring, happy person. She was always smiling and laughing and giving us hugs. She had a cute little laugh! Her smile is like a new life. She was always so great. She was a great snuggler to me. I'll miss great grandma. I'm happy she will get to heaven first.

We loved you so much. You really were a great grandma. You're in our hearts everyday everywhere. Have a great time with Jesus. You are really special and mean so much.

Grandma you were the best mother in law anyone could have. Never interfering always supporting and helpful. Actually as close as you and my mother were it was like having two moms. It was great that you two got to do so much together.

I will always miss you and have great memories of the many vacations you took with us.

Your greatest gift was your daughter, Jenny and I have benen married for 44 years, thats  not possible without you.

Memories of a loving sister.

Ginny, my sister, I loved her so very much.  She was another Mother to me.  Thirteen years older than me, she told me how she had to tote me on her hip every where she went.  Ginny married young, but stayed close to me.  She took me to movies and had me for sleep-overs.  Loving, caring, and giving are just a few of her many precious characteristics.  Ginny was so beautiful; I was so proud that she was my big sister.  But as beautiful as she was outwardly, her inner beauty was even greater.  She has touched the lives of so many people, who, I am sure, will never forget the warmth and love she had for them.  She, like our Mother, is “One of The Great Ladies” who was and is now forever even more beautiful in Heaven.  Till we meet again, my heart is filled with many Precious Memories.

jenny,i loved all the photo's..your mom looks sooo happy in all of them. she was so good to me..the only mom that would pic us up for cheerleading at moeller and drive me all the way to silverton..and then you headed back to sharonville..she never complained about driving us!! what a great mom..thank you ,ginny for all you did for us..  god bless you and take care of you for us!!
