

He was the son of Otto and Luella Kuechle and a lifelong resident of Sheboygan. He was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1946. He served his country in the US Army of Occupation in Japan. Upon return, he joined his father at the Otto Kuechle Company, a retail home furnishing business, where he spent his entire working career.
On October 22, 1949 he was united in marriage to the former Nancy Gill.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Michael (Cathy) Kuechle of Plymouth, MA and Mark (Meriam) Kuechle of Santa Fe, NM; and daughter, Lisa (Kyle) Forbush of Big Lake, AK; grandchildren, Zach (Chelsea) Forbush and Tess (Jordan) Roesner both of Alaska; his sister-in-law, Norma Beyer and brother-in-law, Gordon (Carolyn) Gill; nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Richard was a member of First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, where he served on the Building and Grounds Committee.
Richard and Nancy traveled widely, loved to garden, and entertain friends at their home. Their special joy was visits with their children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law; his brother-in-law, Conrad Beyer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carol and Dave Colton; and nephew, Jeff Beyer.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. James H. Hollister, Senior Minister, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in his name for First Congregational Church and the Mead Public Library.
