He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Raymond Nelson; along with a son, Andrew Jacob Nelson.
He was an Army Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Stephanie Nelson (Jorge Ochoa), Charles Austyn James Nelson and Brayden Michael Nelson; his brother, Howard Nelson (Marie); his grandchildren, Jorge, Kayele and Maeve; along with a host of other family and friends.
The family has entrusted Hardy-Close Funeral Home with direct cremation. With a burial to take place at Bullitt Lick Cemetery at a later date.
