Donald Joseph "DJ" Carey Jr.

Donald Joseph “DJ” Carey Jr. age 29, of Bloomfield, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at home.  He was born on Tuesday, September 20, 1994, in Shelbyville, to Donald Joseph Carey Sr. and Laura Carey.

He was preceded in death by his Papaw’s, Dorchester “Woody” Carey, and David Buchheit, and Mamaw’s, Shirley Carey and Margaret Carey.

“DJ” had a big heart and loved his family immensely. He enjoyed listening to his music, cruising in the car and bonfires with his friends. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, uncle, and nephew that will be missed. 

He leaves behind his mother, Laura Carey (Ray Price); father, Donald Carey Sr.; sisters, Victoria Carey, and Kim Carey; Mamaw, Claudia Buchheit; niece, Peyton; nephews, Cameron, Trey, “JJ”, and Dustin; several aunts, uncles, cousins, along with a host of family and friends. 

Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 12 pm until 6 pm in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville, with cremation to follow. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the funeral home.
