Ida Jane Smith

   Ida Jane Smith, age 89 of Shepherdsville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 with loving family by her side. She was a member of North Bullitt Christian Church. She loved kids and was known as “mamaw’ to the generations of children she baby-sat for.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Smith; son, Charles T. Smith; parents, Virgil and Frances Lanham and several brothers and sisters.

   She leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren, Cody Smith (Renee) and Kelli Hurley (Jerry); great-grandchildren, Gracee Hurley and Grant Hurley; daughter-in-law, Betty Shofner (David); brother, David Lanham; niece and caregiver, Debbie Lewis; great-niece and caregiver, Connie Dunscombe; close family friend, Jana Miller and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

   Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2022, in the chapel at Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects from 10 am until time of service on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Hardy-Close Funeral Home.
