James "Russell" Brooks

   James “Russell” Brooks, age 52 of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, March 25, 2022. Russell loved to make people laugh and enjoyed hosting get-togethers for his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcella Samuels; father, Sherman Samuels and brother, Joey Samuels.

   He leaves to cherish his memory his husband of 7 years, Shane Reed; daughters, Brittany Brooks (Stephen Evans), Maranda Brooks and Shyann Clennon; son, Micheal Brooks; sisters, Melissa Eisenbeis (Larry) and Annetta Greenwell (Joe), his fur-baby, T-Bone and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

   Funeral service will be conducted at noon on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 in the chapel at Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects from 1 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 and from 9 am until time of service on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Hardy-Close Funeral Home.
