Leon Thomas Sanders

Leon Thomas Sanders, age 76, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky returned to his heavenly father on Friday, September 20, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born on Saturday, October 18, 1947, to the late Hobert and Bettie Sanders. 

He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Darrell, Roy Lee, David, Christine and Pauline Sanders, along with a nephew, Jeremy Appleford. 

Leon was a member of Stites Station Baptist Church. 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his siblings, Bonnie Jacobs (Earl), Edward Sanders (Glenda), Patsy Appleford (Gary) and Bruce Sanders (Vera), his niece, Lisa Curl; along with a host of other nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home 285 South Buckman Street Shepherdsville, with burial to follow at Mt. Eden Cemetery. Visitations will be Monday 4 pm until 8 pm and Tuesday 9 am until the time of service at 11 am.
