Albert Lee "Al" Murphy

Albert Lee “Al” Murphy, age 76, of Shepherdsville returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. He was born on December 29, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Louis “Pat” and Mildred (Robbins) Murphy. Al liked sports and was a U of K fan. His family describes him as being very funny and called him “Beets” because his cheeks would turn bright red. He enjoyed playing cards and attending cookouts, but his true passion was his family. Spending time with his children and grandchildren was the highlight of his life. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Connie Sue Murphy and sister, Judy Hebel.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Todd Murphy (Angel); daughters, Suzanne McStoots (Paul) and Jaclyn Murphy; grandchildren, Tyler Leech, Jessie Kotheimer (Travis), Corey Weiss, Alison Murphy, Rian Murphy, Samantha, Brandy, Morgan and Kalynn; great-grandchildren, Maya, Elena, Archer, Azalea and Vaelyn; siblings, Louis “Ark” Murphy (Cheryl), Jerry Jones, Bobby Murphy (Jill) and Shay Murphy as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 7 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. A private inurnment will be held to lay Mr. Murphy to rest beside his beloved wife, Connie Sue. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 1 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
