Bonnie Mae Underwood

Mrs. Bonnie Mae Underwood, age 91, of Shepherdsville, KY returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 29, 2024. Bonnie was born in Morgantown, Kentucky on February 17, 1933, to the late Jesse James Evans and Myrtle (Geary) Coy. Bonnie retired from BCPS after 37 years of service as a bus driver. She was a loving wife, mother, Mamaw, and granny. Bonnie truly enjoyed driving the bus, quilting and gardening, cutting grass and fishing were just some of her favorite things to do.  She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, late husband Jesse James Underwood, stepfather Alan Coy, 2 brothers Jesse Evans, and Charles Evans, 1 sister Dolly Evans, and grandson James Terry Allen.

She leaves to cherish her memory her six children Marilyn June Thomas (Robert), Debbie Allen (Leon), Donald Underwood (Kay), Peggy Rummage (Terry), Gail O’Brien (Larry), Kay Yates (Doug), Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, 2 brothers Lester Coy (Gladys), Vicky Coy (Diane), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear family and friends. 

A Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with burial to follow in Ferguson Cemetery.  Family and friends may pay th
