David Randall Childers

Mr. Childers was born September 14, 1946 in Louisville. He was an accomplished pianist who played for several local establishments including Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, Hardy Close Funeral Home, Fern Creek Funeral Home, churches and nursing homes. Mr. Childers was a hotel clerk for LaQuinta for many years. He had a great love for animals and enjoyed breeding Boston Terriers and French Bulldogs.

Among those who preceded him in death are his parents, Charles and Carrie Childers and sister, Bernice Shields.

He leaves to cherish his memory his nieces, Donna Stivers (Terry), Judy Robison (Mike) and Kriste Hardy (Chris); great nieces and nephews, Laurie Beth Baird, Kyle, Brad and LeAnn Stivers, Michael Robison, Amanda Morrison, Sara Ridley, Katie, Blake and Abigail Hardy; several great-great nieces and nephews; cousin, Jean Seaman and canine companions, Chardonnay, Carbernet, La Precious, Elise and Jake.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial in Hebron Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Kennel Club or the Home of the Innocents.
