Deloris Cox

Mrs. Deloris Wales Cox, age 69, of the South End returned to her Heavenly Father on January 14, 2019. Mrs. Cox was born on April 7, 1949 in Ardmore, Alabama to the late Leonard and Anna (Butner) Wales. Mrs. Cox worked as a cashier, waitress and a caregiver. She was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. Among those that preceded her in death are her parents; siblings, Pearl Wales and Steve Wales; and nephew, Shawn Wales. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 20 years, Joseph Cox; children, Mark Wales (Wendy), Christina Young (Robert) and Leslie Hill (Jesse); grandchildren, Mark, Renee and Brandon; nephew, Shane Wales; and siblings, Fannie Philpot (Norman), Gail Waters, Leonard Wales, Jr. (Angie) and Leroy Wales.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Thursday, January 17, 2019 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 2-8 pm and Thursday from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. www.subfuneralhome.com
