Ernest "Ernie" Jones

Ernest "Ernie" Jones, Sr. 68, of Okolona, returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Ernie was a retired truck driver for MSD, an Army veteran, a past commander of Okolona VFW Post 8639 and a member of the Shepherdsville VFW post 5610.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Leola Jones ; granddaughter, Jessica Jones; brother, Douglas Jones; sisters, Lois Jones and Connie Stilger.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Brenda Coy Jones; sons, Teddy Jones and Ernie Jones Jr.; grandchildren, April Jones, Trish Jones, Cody Jones and Darrin Jones; great grandchildren, Payton, Cierra, Austin, Khloe, Jayden and Mason; brothers, James Jones, Larry Jones, Steve Jones and Mike Jones; sister, Theresa Coy, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted Monday 9:15 a.m. in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Preston Hwy with burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m.
